چکیده

2014 Experimental evidence is herein given of lower critical solution temperatures in high salt aqueous solutions of cetylpyridinium and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, nitrate and chlorate. The critical behaviour of the solutions is followed using static and dynamic light scattering. The unique feature of this transition lies in the unusually large values of the correlation length 03BE (> 103 A) more than 10 °C below the critical temperature. The occurrence of the phase separation seems to be connected with the existence of giant rod-like flexible micelles in the solutions. The analogies with critical solutions of polymers are underlined. Sepration and determination trace amount of cadmium ions in real and water samples by cloud point extraction - flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry after preconcentration with non-ionic surfactant Triton-X114

2-(3- indolyl) – 4,5 di phynyl imidazole.(IDPI) was used as a complexing agent in cloud point extraction for the first time and applied for selective pre-concentration of trace amounts of cadmium. The method is based on the extraction of cadmium at pH= 7.0 by using non-ionic surfactant Triton-X114 and 2-(3- indolyl) – 4,5 di phynyl imidazole. (IDPI) as a chelating agent. The adopted concentrati...

Anionic wormlike micellar fluids that display cloud points: rheology and phase behavior.

We report our investigations into the self-assembly of sodium oleate (NaOA) in the presence of a binding salt (triethylammonium chloride, Et(3)NHCl) simple salt (potassium chloride, KCl). Both salts promote the growth of long, wormlike micelles in NaOA solutions, thereby increasing the fluid viscosity. The significant difference with the Et(3)NHCl salt is that it also modifies the phase behavio...

The Effect of Type and Concentration of Surfactant and Ligand on Uranium (VI) Cloud-Point Extraction (CPE) from Aqueous Solutions (Short Communication)

In this article cloud-point extraction (CPE) was used with chelating agent to extract uranium from aqueous solutions. The methodology used is based on the formation of metal complexes soluble in a micellar phase of surfactant. The metal ions complexes are then extracted into the surfactant-rich phase at a temperature above the cloud-point temperature. The effect of type of surfactants and ligan...

Separation, Preconcentration and determination of Hg (II) Ion in Water Samples by Cloud Point Extraction Technique Coupled with UV-VIS Spectrophotometry using a New Complexing Agent

In this study a cloud-point extraction process using non-ionic surfactant Triton X-114 for extraction of mercury (II) from aqueous solutions was developed. The method is based on the complex formation of Hg (II) with benzyl (pyridin-2-yl) methylcarbamodithioate at pH 5.5. After preconcentration and dilution of the surfactant-rich phase, the enriched analyte was determined by s...

Selective Separation and Preconcentration of trace Amounts of Gallium in Water and Rice Samples using Cloud Point Extraction and Determination by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry

In the present study a cloud-point extraction process using non-ionic surfactant Triton X-114 for selective extraction of gallium from aqueous solutions was developed. The method is based on the complex formation of Ga (III) with N, N′ -bis (salycilidene)-1, 2-phenylenediamine (salophen) as a chelating agent in buffer media of pH 5. After phase separation and dilution of the surfactant-rich pha...
